Waiting For Baby C!

Outdoor Autumn Wedding

Outdoor Wedding? Risky! Autumn in Texas is so unpredictable! It could be cold and rainy, snowing, stormy with hail or 90 degrees and humid. You just never know. This couple had the PERFECT Autumn day. The temp was pleasant and the sunset wedding was just gorgeous! TFL! LK

Lucky LU is 2 Months..

Actually, he is already three months but I am behind on posting! He is smiling and cooing and eating well (obviously). He is batting at toys and spitting out the pacifier. I think he is trying to suck his thumb because he is always searching for it. He isn't sleeping through the night because I let him sleep with us and feed him several times but that is survival mode with four kids and it works for us. The little brick is 16 pounds and growing fast! I think he will be laid back but maybe that is just wishful thinking on my part! We look forward to the holiday season with the new baby. It just makes things fun having him around! TFL-LK

Halloween Fun!

Halloween was a low-key event this year. No large party-just family and neighbors. We did have a surprise visit from the C family and took our first portrait together! What a group! We will definitely make that picture a yearly event! The Uncles stopped by on the way to a Halloween party and we enjoyed their crazy costumes! The grandparents stayed home with "Big Baby" (his UFC fight name) and Elvis drove us around behind his four wheeler in a trailer. Trick or Treating was so easy that way and we were a big hit riding with Elvis. The kids never complained about tired feet! All hail the King! Daddy Dubs and I went to see the late night showing of Paranormal Activity and I can tell you it was just scary enough to keep me hiding under my jacket most of the time! TFL! LK

Alliance Air Show

We spent Saturday with some of our favorite people at the Alliance Air Show. The weather was perfect and a beautiful blue sky made the aerial acrobats even more thrilling. The kids enjoyed climbing in and out of all the old airplanes, army tanks and helicopters and we were once again blown away by the Blue Angels. I enjoyed this show even more because my brother-in-law was with me and explained much of the history and mechanics of the planes and helicopters on display! Thanks Uncle L! TFL-LK

Annual Pumpkin Patch Adventure!

We were excited to take the baby to 'The Patch' this year. An annual tradition since the birth of our oldest, we have been going to the same pumpkin patch every year for eight years for pictures and hayrides. This year it has rained so much that the patch was closed most of the week. We finally had a few days of sun so we headed out with the whole gang one evening and had a blast. The patch was pretty muddy and the pumpkins were a bit soggy but the kids loved it! Enjoy and TFL! LK

Hello One Month!

One Month Old and already double chinin' it! Fat little leg rolls and smiles! He is slow to smile but it really lights up that face. Sleeping in bed with me at night (I know, I know) so I can get snuggle time even though I am back at work during the day. He has a little red tint to his hair but I am guessing he'll be as blond as the rest of the K clan. Most say he looks like NK. He is delicious!!! TFL-LK

My oldest son ran his first road race with his dad and uncle last weekend! He enjoyed himself as you can see and posted a pretty good time for an 8 year old. His brothers and sister cheered on from the sideline. After the race, his little sister entertained the road race crowd with some spontaneous stage dancing with the live jazz band on site! A fun day! TFL-LK

Welcome to the world Baby Jax! We watched your first day of life with awe and anticipation! We can't wait to get our hands on you and introduce you to your rowdy cousins! What a shocker- blond hair! Will the next one be a red head?!? TFL-LK

Summer in Pensacola Beach!

Summer was short and sweet at our house since momma was working full time! We did manage to hit the beach with Grandma and Grandpa. We had not been to Pensacola Beach before but we were pleasantly surprised with the beach and town. The water was warm and beautiful and the beaches were pristine. Grandma and Grandpa hit a home run with the rental condo. It was right on the beach with a gorgeous view and all the amenities! I could have stayed there forever! (Or at least until the baby came!) Highlights of the trip were the visit to the fish market, Grandpa's beach tent blowing away, catching sand crabs with Grandma, our beautiful room with an ocean view, and preparing our shrimp dinner for Grandma and Grandpa! TFL-LK

The first day of school is so bittersweet for us. I love having the summer months with my kids. No strict routine, flexible bedtimes and fun outdoor activities! It just suits our lifestyle so well! My husband is the original "boy of summer" after all! This year I needed the kids to go back to school so I could have a little rest and recover from c-section #4 but I still miss them every day. The stress of homework and sports and school activities while juggling a newborn should keep me hopping this year! Surely it will help me shed all the baby weight! LOL! TFL-LK

The Six-Pack is Complete!

Welcome to the world baby Lucas Aaron! 9lbs and 1oz born on August 13th. Momma and crew are adjusting to a newborn schedule and the beginning of the school year. We are enjoying all the newborn moments and really trying to keep an organized schedule for the sake of the other kiddos! Lucas was almost three weeks early but we had a c-section and no real complications. He loves to sleep and eat and is already 1 month old! Momma is slowly recovering and thank goodness Mimi came over to help out the first few weeks! This family is now complete and we are ready to enjoy every last baby moment! Thanks for all the emails, cards, presents and prayers! We really have the best group of friends and family and are so blessed! TFL-LK

Grandpa's Fourth of July Gift

Grandpa K has been wanting to decorate the kid's bikes for Fourth of July for several years now and he finally got his chance! We entered the town parade with patriotic pride! He used duct tape in red white and blue to cover the bikes. This was no quick task! He did the same for DH's bike when he was a kid! What a fun tradition! Thanks Grandpa and Grandma for making this Fourth a memorable experience for us all!

Big Fish Tales....

A memorable Memorial Day weekend at the K Farm was made even more exciting with this big catch on the last evening. My proud hubby spent all weekend trying to get that fish! Thanks K family for another fun filled adventure! A quick family update: DD is no longer needing to wear glasses as her eyes are getting stronger! MK is growing like a weed and excited to hit the beach this summer with Grandma and Grandpa! NK just learned how to ride a bike without training wheels! Daddy is still tornado chasing and job chasing and Mommy is working full time and growing bigger every day! 10 weeks until baby arrives! We finally have a name picked out!!! TFL-LK

The World According to MAK

My oldest child has an artistic eye that I am trying to nurture. I really hope that all of my children will take time to stop and appreciate the beauty that surrounds us every day. Today we took an afternoon to enjoy nature as a family. My oldest son and I took a walk with my camera and I helped guide him toward the natural wonders around us. Turning Four and Breaking My Heart...

My baby is officially four years old...going on 8 thanks to his older brother! He is such a sweet angel and so lovable. It is hard to see him transform into a little boy, independent and no longer needing mommy to be the center of his universe! We wanted to give him a special birthday and we knew just what he would like! MONSTER TRUCK JAM! The kid went nuts and the light in his eyes was worth the monster headache and stinky exhaust fumes! Spring Break 2009- Texas Style

Hello Blog Fans! I'm back to blogging after an extended winter vacation. I nursed my DD back to health after her surgery, picked up some extra hours at work as DH was laid off at the first of the year, and found time to get pregnant with baby #4. Not much time left over for blogging and picture taking! We spent our much needed Spring Break relaxing down on the farm with the K family which gave me the time and motivation to pick up my camera again! Merry Christmas!

We had a warm and relaxing Christmas with all of our family gathered round. DD is doing well despite my constant hovering. We will have her first heart check up on Tuesday. The kids are all looking forward to having a relaxing week without school and we have some fun things planned now that DD can get around people. I am bracing myself for the post tramatic stress I usually feel after the holiday season and DD will start a new job search Jan 1! Here's hoping that 2009 will be a wonderful year for us all! TFL-LK

The Very Best Christmas Gift...

Having my daughter home and healthy after open heart surgery is the best Christmas gift I have ever received. This year we are definitely all about the true meaning of Christmas. I am enjoying every moment of every day and remembering to pray for all those parents who did not get to bring their children home from the hospital. My heart goes out to the ones we left behind and I will never forget how blessed we truly are! Beware.. some of these picture are a little scary but my daughter is doing extremely well and it has only been 1 week since the surgery! TFL! lk

Princess Warrior Turns Six...

My little princess warrior turned six last weekend. She had a great birthday with all her best friends and family. Two days later she underwent open heart surgery. I am proud to report, one week after her birthday, she is doing extremely well! A new heart for her birthday and a new appreciation for life and how precious it is for the rest of us who adore her! I am Thankful....

We had our first Thanksgiving celebration in our new home. We have much to be thankful for this year. Our families, our health, our old friends and new neighbors, a new home, a new job great job for me and etc... The weather was nice so we took some pictures and spent much of the day outdoors. We are now heading into the busy, crazy weeks before Christmas and looking forward to DD's 6th Birthday! I hope everyone had a nice long holiday weekend! TFL-LK

Barefoot Christmas....

I love Texas- we have great weather. Yes it can be hot in the summer and slightly unpredictable and dangerous in the spring but the rest of the year we really luck out! For example- I photographed this family last weekend for Christmas cards and we shot the entire session with bare feet! What a cute bunch of feet! TFL-LK

It is that time of year again- time for Christmas card pictures! I love doing portraits and I love being outside, so my weekends are full of fall foliage and family fun! Spooky Spooky!

I am finally editing my Halloween Party pics! This was the first big party at our new home and we had about 50 people! Thank the Lord for warm Texas weather and outdoor living! I think everyone had fun and we really enjoyed seeing the kids in their costumes! We bobbed for apples, hit a pinata and stuck our hands in the "disgusting stew"! The Great West Texas Adventure!

We look forward to our annual camping trip with friends as soon as the weather cools off each fall. This year we were invited to visit our friends family ranch out in West Texas as an alternative to camping. We had beautiful weather and many great adventures despite my nasty sinus infection! We took a jeep safari to see the abundant wildlife, climbed a giant hill, made a huge campfire, filled the deer feeders, shot a 22 at beer cans( empty of course!), took a ride on the war wagon and ate terrific meals thanks to JJ! We couldn't tell our kids apart by the end of the weekend on account of all the dirt and grass burrs so we just took a guess and threw three of them in the car with us. Hurricane Party!

Tiny Dancer...

My Little Ballerina began fall classes this month and I am enjoying every minute of the girlishness! My DD is the perfect tiny dancer and loves her class. In fact I am having trouble getting her out of her tutu and leotard. She even wants to sleep in it! Thank you Lord for little girls! Enjoy! LK

OK so growing up is not painful for the kids but it sure is bittersweet for the mamma! Every year the physical and developmental changes our kiddos go through are awe-inspiring while as adults we may change our hairstyle or drop(gain) a few pounds. First Day of School 2008-2009

My mother and my best gal pal share a birthday every year. This year I was lucky enough to be with both of them on their birthday. Disney Magic!

We finally took that magical trip to Disney World thanks to Mimi and Pappaw. We were a little worried about traveling to the coast of Florida during Hurricane season (and with good reason-IKES!) Thank goodness the storms missed us and we had pretty good weather the entire trip. I had not been to Disney in over 20 years so it was exciting to go back with the kids. They had a great time in the park and we had a great time watching them explore. The younger two were all about meeting the characters and my oldest DS wanted to ride Space Mountain over and over. We never had to wait in line and we rode every ride in the park at least twice! We also spent a day at MGM studios and a night at Downtown Disney! I must say- hanging out with the Pink Power Ranger was one of the highlight of my life! She was Pinkalicious! TFL-LK

Wedding Central..

Another beautiful bride and another gorgeous and HOT wedding. It was 107 F the afternoon of this one! Good thing Texas brides are fabulous and tough and as nails!

You Can Fry An Egg on The Sidewalk!

Texas is HOT in July and August. You really can fry an egg on the sidewalk. I have seen it done. So when I got the call for a last minute wedding shoot for the end of July I assumed it would be indoors. Imagine my surprise when it was not only an outdoor wedding at high noon, but that it would also be one of the hottest days of the summer. Thankfully, this was one of the most laid back families I have ever worked with. Despite the heat the wedding was fun and beautiful and nobody complained about the outdoor photo shoot afterward. A gorgeous relaxed bride and groom made every shot a breeze! Enjoy and TFL! LK

You Want to Make a Memory?

The month of July has been chaos with all the house showings and moving preparations, not to mention a busy work schedule and three kids to entertain! So when some dear friend of ours invited us to their lake property we jumped at the chance to get away. DD was with Mimi so we packed up the boys and prepared for some outdoor fun. When we got there we met our friends at the marina (supposedly for lunch). They were all standing out on the dock staring at this beautiful boat being towed into the water. Well... Duhh-It took me a minute to realize that one of our friends was standing on the boat and, guess what? It was his boat! Whoop! This weekend was getting better and better! Needless to say we had a fantastic time and can't wait to go back.

Vacation..Ahhh!

We headed out to Destin Florida again this summer for a relaxing beach vacation. At this age my kids are sand crabs! All they want to do is play in the sand and waves so we hit the beach at least three times a day! We did drive along the coast a bit one night to have dinner at one of our favorite little restaurants in Seaside but the rest of the time we spent relaxing. I have some great pictures to post but I haven't had the time to sort through them all so here are a few that caught my eye! Hope everyone is having a great summer! TFL-lk

Princess Jasmine

I did another wedding this weekend with SDS photography and I really enjoyed the Indian influence in this wedding. The bride was so beautiful and when they played " I Can Show You The World" from Disney's Aladdin she was the perfect Princess Jasmine! This couple will make some beautiful children! TFL-LK
