Comin' Up a Cloud...
Ever heard of the term "ominous cloud"? In Texas we are trained to look for dangerous cloud formations and pay attention to weather warnings- especially in the Spring. A late afternoon thunderstorm with 40-50 mph winds and pea-size to tennis ball-size hail is pretty normal for us. My husband loves to chase these severe thunderstorms throughout Texas and Oklahoma in hopes of getting a glimpse at a tornado. He has caught a few on camera but my favorite pictures are of the cloud formations that come before the storm. You can see the green swirling clouds and watch the funnels form right before your eyes. Beautiful but deadly. Even a small child knows what these clouds mean. Most of us head to the storm cellar or under the stairs but a crazy few (my husband included) chase them down and capture their beauty! TFL-LK
