The Honolulu Marathon 2011

Our 17th anniversary celebration was a trip to Oahu to run the 2011 Honolulu Marathon.  Running a marathon has been on both of our "bucket lists"  before the big 40!  We spent 18 painful weeks training and then spent 5 days in paradise as a reward.  The marathon was awesome and harder than I expected. We had a chance to visit Pearl Harbor on it's 70th anniversary and talk to some of the 90 year old survivors.  We took surf lessons on Waikiki beach and thought we were really awesome until we went to the North Shore for the Billabong surf championship and saw what real surfing looked like. A fun romantic adventure for Dubs and I.  Marathons are like childbirth...in the mist of the battle you say "NEVER AGAIN"  but as soon as you finish you forget your pain and look forward to the next race!  TFL_LK

CiCi Turns Nine!

Every year, we look forward to Cici's birthday because we are so thankful for her and because it marks the start of the Christmas season for our family. This year, we took her to decorate Christmas ornaments with some friends. Then we all went out to lunch and saw the Muppet Movie.  Later that evening we decorated our Christmas tree and had our special hot cocoa!  Happy Birthday little love bug!  TFL-LK

Christmas Card Picture....

You must love your British Sister-in-Law just because she is awesome and has a cool accent.  On top of that she is willing to go out in the rain with her nice camera and find a sheltered spot to drag a couch that is somewhat protected from bitterly cold wind and rain gust.  She fights mud, a crying two year old, bad attitudes and a father-in-law standing behind her telling her this is the stupidest idea-EVER!  She still gets the shot!  Awesome- Love you Auntie S!

Love this one too Auntie S!

Thanksgiving 2011

Still catching up on the end of the year pictures so I can print my blog...Thanksgiving was beautiful and warm and full of laughter.  We spent the day with the K family and took some family pictures in the back yard.  The food is always good when Grandma cooks and we always go home with the leftovers and dessert! YUM! TFL-LK

Mr Kyle Clark turned Forty this month and JJ planned an amazing party to celebrate his senior years.  We had a beautiful day full of barbecue, music on the patio, a Touch and Go reunion and some fun gifts to roast Kyle!  A perfect start to the next forty years!
